Project on the activity of the shellfish catchers of the Ria de Alvor. It was with them that I travelled from one end of the estuary to the other, it was with them that I saw the sun rise, it was with them that I felt the rain fall and the wind blow. They taught me how to see the “eyes” of different bivalves. They were the ones who made my eyes see them in the way you can now see them in the photographs in this book. I would like to thank them for having let me spend these last few months with them on Ria de Alvor and for having allowed me to be such a close observer of how they work. This work is for them (those here and those gone). They are the essence of this project.
